In present, "police of animals" is not seen well in Romania.
Mayor of Bucharest, Sorin Oprescu, said the first meeting with ONG he wants to establish this service at level of Capital. Yey, law 9/2008 and Its implementing rules,ensure the legal framework to combat of "bad's treatments" and "animal cruelty".
There is still a such service provided by "of animal cops" dressed in uniform, to go home to people and to arrest them if they are evidence the tormenting of animals.
In Romania the law invites every citizen may submit a request on DSV and one to police the area deed which has been developed, no registration is taking, so a month after of submission of application, a doctor and a policeman will investigate if the citizen at home and send the response. Maximum penalty is three years imprisonment but so far DSV and police did not have debt and we have not seen ANY PERSON ARRESTED (only persons fined)
LEGAL FRAMEWORK
The legal framework is poor at this time. When we worked on protection law of animals, law 9/2008, ONG have urged creation the police of animals by law. Lawmakers have decided that "to establish a new police service animal, and community police service is already, is an enormous expense for the country, considering that the premises must, salaries, uniforms, machine, shelters." We believe that this killing was not for country, on the contrary, is more expensive for the country to solve problems arising from lack of this service. For example, owners every day thousands of chickens every throw foaled public space in the yard. For these chicks castration ADULTS TO COME enormous sums are spent.
